The Donut Day competition
A quality fresh donut requires advanced know-how and technical expertise worthy of fine pastry!
Bakers, pastry chefs, catering professionals, seasoned amateurs… come and compete to try to win the title of best donut in France!
For 2.5 hours, in the competition area of the Sandwich & Snack Show, the candidates will compete to prepare the best fresh donuts. The Donut Day competition will begin with making the donut dough using Mix Dawn Foods.
The candidates will shape and fry the freshly made donuts in the fryer and then undergo 3 tests:
Technical French Donut Championship
Mastering the glazed donut, with Donut Premium Crystal Glaze Dawn icing: a true American classic, very simple but also very technical.
Imposed
Your version of the pastry donut (your choice): a tasty mix of French and American pastry codes.
Free
During Donut Day competition, participants will have to imagine a sweet and delicious donut that meets the codes of street food, capable of being easily taken away and eaten by hand without a cover, to live a true American donut experience like in the United States.
The winner will stand out for their technique, their creativity and of course the marriage of flavors…

Through this competition, the objective is to promote the very specific characteristics and flavors of the fresh donut through its gourmet side.
The key to a tasty donut?
Working the dough according to the rules of the art which once shaped will be fried. This soft base is then endlessly enhanced thanks to gourmet fillings, colorful icings and surprising, even gourmet toppings.
